UV-C LAMPS: for complete air purification from all traces of grease.
Only in cases where ozone generators are not provided by the specifications and when the system designer has indicated uv-c lamps, one can opt for the installation of uv-c lamp devices
These devices are made of stainless steel aisi 304 and are mounted above each kitchen hood, it would be advisable for the hood to have a pre-treatment system for coarse grease through G3-G4 plane filters.
They can be positioned above the hood and can replace the plenum.
Their shape facilitates quick installation without modifications to the existing system (see examples in the figures)
UV-C Lamps are an optional element of professional kitchen extraction systems, and they are gaining increasing popularity for their ability to simultaneously solve two different problems: the accumulation of grease, which poses a fire risk, and the elimination of the smell of grease used in cooking from the expelled air.
A constant reduction of aerosols throughout the entire extraction system drastically increases the lifespan of all parts installed in the system, such as the fan.
Reduction of odors, and no grease accumulation reduces the risk of fire
This air purification technology also eliminates odors that form during cooking and frying. Unpleasant odors, due to old aerosol deposits in the air extraction system, do not have the chance to form because the extraction channels remain hygienically clean.
With the use of a UV-c Control aerosol post-treatment system, organic particles found in the exhaust air are efficiently reduced.
Aerosol residues and the related fire risk are also minimized.
Eliminate cooking odors in a simple way and without excessive energy expenditure

THE FUNCTIONS OF UV-C LAMPS
UV-C lamp systems for kitchen exhaust hoods
UV-C lamps are devices capable of emitting ultraviolet light; in addition to this, they are constructed so that the wavelength produces ozone O3, making them ozone generators. It is precisely these two elements, Ozonization and UV light, that perform the functions required by these devices:
– Ultraviolet light and ozone break down grease particles suspended in the air, preventing them from accumulating along the ducts or in the exhaust hood, which could pose a significant fire risk.
– Ozone chemically interacts with the grease particles themselves, oxidizing them. This ensures that the particles lose any unpleasant odor.
The UV-c hood combines the effectiveness of traditional filtering systems with the efficiency of UV lamps generating ozone to reduce odors and grease. The incoming airflow, after passing through the labyrinth filters, reaches the UV lamps, and the generated ozone reacts with the grease and odors, significantly reducing their number.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
The maintenance of a UV system requires approximate cleaning every 300 hours performed with a cloth soaked in detergent. UV lamps have a lifespan of about 6000 hours after which they lose their effectiveness.
