How do you clean the NEXION electrostatic filter?
The NEXION filter cells can be removed without tools and washed in an industrial dishwasher (where dimensions allow), in an ultrasonic tank or in a heated tank with water at 40–50°C and 1–2% neutral degreaser. No disposable filters, no replacement parts to order. After washing, reinstall the cells completely dry — never reinstall wet cells.
How often do the NEXION cells need to be washed?
It depends on the position in the ventilation circuit and the type of cooking. In high-intensity kitchens: visual inspection every week, full wash every 2–3 weeks. In a standard professional kitchen: inspection every 2 weeks, wash every 3–4 weeks. When installed downstream of G4/F9 pre-filters the frequency is significantly reduced as the pre-filter captures coarser particles before the electrostatic cells.
Does NEXION also remove odours or only smoke and grease?
NEXION removes both particulate matter (smoke and grease) and odours. The single stage achieves 90% efficiency on particulate and 70% on odours. The double stage reaches 95% on particulate and 80% on odours. For more intensive odour control, NEXION can be combined with an activated carbon filter downstream — the recommended configuration for environments subject to strict emission regulations.
Can NEXION be installed on an existing ventilation system?
Yes. NEXION is designed to integrate at any point in an existing ventilation circuit — before or after activated carbon filters, downstream of the hood or upstream of the fan. It is compatible with systems of any brand. The optimal position depends on the existing layout: contact us for a free technical assessment.
What is the difference between NEXION single stage and NEXION X double stage?
he single stage contains 1 electrostatic filter cell and achieves 90% particulate removal efficiency. The double stage (X series) contains 2 cells in series within the same enclosure — the body is longer but the height is identical — and achieves 95% efficiency. The double stage is recommended for environments with high grease production or stricter emission regulations.
Is NEXION suitable for a charcoal grill kitchen?
Charcoal grill kitchens have very variable characteristics: coal quantities, flue gas temperature, airflow volume, room layout. For this type of application a specific technical assessment is required before sizing any filtration system. How is the NEXION electrostatic filter cleaned?

Is a qualified electrician required to install NEXION?
For the electrical connection yes — NEXION is powered at 230 V single-phase and internally generates an ionisation voltage with an operating differential between 7,000 and 10,000 V DC across the cell electrodes. The mains connection must be carried out by a qualified electrician with mandatory PE earth bonding. Routine maintenance (cleaning cells) requires no electrical expertise. Before opening the panel: disconnect the power supply, wait 5 minutes, discharge residual charge by making contact between the two potential terminals with a protected insulated screwdriver.
How long is the NEXION warranty?
The warranty is 12 months for VAT-registered customers (professional and commercial use) and 24 months for private consumers under Consumer Code D.Lgs. 206/2005. It covers manufacturing defects and is void in the event of unauthorised intervention, improper use or failure to carry out scheduled maintenance.
Is NEXION approved and compliant with Italian and European regulations?
